This simple communication feature luckily on Google Nest AND Amazon Echo will generate a hard life into an easier life just through your smart home making it even smarter!

What is the Intercom Feature?

This Intercom feature is integrated to your Google Nest smart home (Also known as Google Assistant). This integration helps smart home users in your household to communicate freely by voice simply by saying the wake word "Hey Google or Okay Google" phrase.

How Does This Feature Work?

This feature works as soon as you say one of these wake words to your Google Nest.

"Okay, Google" "Hey, Google" "Ok, Google"

After saying one of these wake words you can say next to your own <message>, a room or device, and presets google had made.

Who Can Use This Feature?

Literally, almost everyone can use this feature. Even your kids as long as they are set up on your account or on the voice recognition of your home you should be set! Did you know you could also use this feature on your phone?! You can broadcast through the Google Assistant app if you don't have android and ask Google to say you are driving home to let your family and kids know!

Now, this feature only works for those who mostly have their voice recognition setup however unregistered voices can also be used so Yes! Your other relatives can use this too!

What Speakers Can Be Used for Intercom/Broadcasting from Room to Room?

Your Google assistant/nests MUST be connected on the same wifi network and be set up via the Google Home app. Through your phone, well it truly is simple!! As long as your account is connected to Google Home with your Assistant app you will be able to connect to your household and broadcast for them to cook something or even prepare something almost like a walkie talkie!

Can I Broadcast from my Google Home (specifically at home) to my own phone?

The simple answer is, unfortunately... Nope, it's not possible. The reason why is unclear, it could be a hardware issue that they possibly can't fix, or possibly Google hadn't even thought about it! The problem is easy if you want this feature get yourself and many other Google Home/Nest users who want this feature and Send Feedback to Google that you want this feature!

To submit feedback through your nest display or nest hub max just say "Hey/Okay, Google Send Feedback" and say why you want this feature and the feature itself, and hopefully, Google will get right on it!

Received a Message, Why Not Send another one Back?!

Once a person or possibly you broadcast a message, why not send another one back... You don't need to say the long phrase "Broadcast" or "Shout" instead say "REPLY" so when you activate it on your Google Assistant with one of the wake words such as "Okay Google" or "Hey Google" say Reply then your message. Now this command will allow Google to send a message to your friend or parent only back to the original device that broadcasted the message. While the other user receives it they can do the exact same thing and whoever receives the reply can use the same wake and command word to send them a message back.
